The Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation is a registered charity established to raise funds to support the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre (in St. John's) and its affiliated cancer programs throughout the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

All contributions to the foundation remain in the province and are used to:

• enhance regional programs close to the patient's home;
• support local education and research projects;
• fund patient support programs and services; and,
• acquire cancer treatment equipment.

The Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation is going green this year, offering 3 environmentally friendly options for sending Holiday Cards:

• E-Cards
  E-Cards are the 100% green option - pick your favourite image from this years cards, fill in your message, and send off your holiday wishes!
• Card Packs
  This years card packs consists of 10 cards with 2 of each beautiful Christmas scene. They are printed on environmentally friendly stock approved by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council).
• Custom Cards
  If you're looking to customize your message this year, our Custom Cards option lets you upload your own logo and message to print onto the card with an image of your choice. If you would like to have environmentally friendly printed cards customized with your logo, contact us at 777-8994.

Since all of the proceeds go to funding Cancer Care right here in Newfoundland and Labrador, we decided to use scenes from local photographers. You can browse through this years cards at the top of this page.

• How to send your e-card

  Upon purchase of your e-card you will immediately receive an email from us with a link to your e-card. Please keep this email handy.

  Open up a new message from your own email account and then copy and paste the link you received from us to your e-card inside your message.

  Enter your chosen recipients/contacts in your 'To' field as you would a normal email and double check that the link is included in the body of your email. There is no limit to the amount of people you can send the e-card to.

  Once you send your email, your recipients will simply need to click on the link inside the email and they will be presented with your personalized e-card.

  If you have any difficulties sending your e-card please call the Cancer Care Foundation and we will be happy to assist you.

• Last dates for ordering cards
  1. When do you stop taking orders?
     
     • For customized printed cards, the cut off date for placing an order is Monday, December 7.
     • For card packs, the cut off date for placing an order is Friday, December 18.

• General Card Questions
  1. How many cards are in each pack?
     10 cards in each package which contain two of each image.
  2. Will I receive envelopes with my cards?
     Yes, high quality fsc certified envelopes accompany your cards.
  3. What stock is used?
     Cards are produced on high quality fsc certified paper. They are 5.125" x 7.375" in size and are produced in portrait and landscape designs.
  4. Can I add a logo or an image and a customized message to my cards?
     Yes, please see the customized cards area of the website for full details.
• Customized Printed Cards
  1. Is there a minimum order for the customized printed cards?
     Yes, the minimum order is 50 cards.
  2. How much do custom printed cards cost?
     Please contact us at 709-777-8994 to obtain a quote on your customized printed cards.
  3. Will I receive a proof of what my customized printed cards will look like before they are printed?
     A high resolution pre-press print will be emailed to you for approval prior to printing.
  4. Will I have the opportunity to approve the final artwork for my customized printed cards?
     Yes, it is important that you sign off to indicate your approval of final customized artwork before it goes to print.
  5. Will I have the opportunity to make changes to the artwork?
     Yes.
  6. I prefer not to purchase/donate online, how can I order cards?

  9. Can I collect my cards from the Cancer Care office?
     Yes. Cards are available at the Cancer Care Foundation office located in the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre at 300 Prince Philip Drive.
  10. I do not have a credit card, how can I order and pay for cards?
      Complete your order form and simply send it into us with your payment and we can in turn then ship your cards to you.
  11. How safe is it to use my credit card on the cancercarecards.ca website?
      It is very safe to use your credit card for making payments on the cancercarecards.ca. Your financial details are passed through our secure server using the latest 128-bit SSL (secure sockets layer) encryption technology and again encrypted using encryption algorithm which is at least 64-bit.
• Delivery and Postage
  1. When will my cards be delivered?
     Depending on your location, your card order may take approximately 2 weeks from date of placing your order. Should you wish to expedite your order, various express post options are available for an additional cost. If you live in St. John's, you are welcome to collect your cards from our office. For more information on delivery options please call us at 1-888-999-7589.
  2. How will my cards be delivered?
     Canada Post for standard orders. For customized card orders Canada Post or a courier service will deliver your cards.
  3. Is there an additional charge for postage/delivery?
     Yes. For 1-2 packages the charge is $2.65 and for 3-5 packages the cost is $5.30.
     
     Should you wish to expedite your order, you can request express post options for an additional fee. Please call us at 1-888-999-7589 for further information.
  4. Where do you deliver to?
     All locations.
• Payment details
  1. What payment types do you accept?
     Visa, Amex, MasterCard, Cheque, Money Order, Cash.
  2. Can I pay by cheque/money order/EFT?
     Yes. Your cheque or money order should be made payable to the Cancer Care Foundation.
  3. If I pay by credit card online, when will I receive a receipt?
     Once your order is successfully processed via credit card payment online; you will automatically receive a receipt to the email address you have specified.
• Invoices, Receipts, Donations, Tax Deductibility and GST
  1. Will I receive a tax deductible receipt for my purchase of cards and/or my donation?
     You will receive a receipt for your transaction. The total amount for the purchase of cards is not tax deductible (because you are purchasing goods). If you choose to make a donation, only the amount of the donation is tax deductible, and this amount will be clearly specified on your receipt.
  2. What part of my purchase is Tax Deductible?
     Only the donation amount is tax deductible. The amount you pay for cards or the e-card is not tax deductible.
  3. Is GST included?
     No GST will be charged on the purchase of cards.
• I have a problem with my order
  1. What if I don't like what I ordered?
     We hope you love our Christmas Cards and are happy with your purchase from us. Unfortunately no refund or exchange is available once you have ordered.
  2. What if my cards are damaged when they arrive, or if they are not what I ordered?
     If you receive a product that appears to have been "Damaged in Transit", that is, damaged in transit from us to you, you should notify us immediately via 1-888-999-7589 or contact us here. Events such as wilful damage, misuse, or tampering with a product may prevent a product being accepted for replacement. Should your cards have genuinely been damaged in transit, or if they are not what you ordered, we're happy to provide a refund, replacement, or exchange, including all postage costs. Please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order, so that we can make the necessary arrangements.

     Please include all of your details, so that we can contact you, including your credit card details so that we can make any necessary refunds or additional charges.
  3. What if my order hasn't arrived in the estimated time?
     Call us on 1-888-999-7589 or email us and we will track your order and advise you as soon as possible. We will need to verify that your address was given to us correctly. After that, there are a couple of things you can do. Firstly you should ask at your local Post Office whether they are holding anything for you.
     
     It's rare for packages to go missing completely and never show up, but on the odd occasion, it does happen. Also, it is advisable to wait at least a week, in case your package was delayed via Canada Post on its way to you. This is unusual but can happen at times especially during the Holiday season, and it's wise to rule this error out before assuming the package has been lost. Please note that all packages do carry an element of risk. Unfortunately occasionally packages are lost in the post.
• Returns & Refunds
  1. What if I don't like what I ordered?
     For Christmas cards no refund or exchange is available, except in the unlikely event that your cards have been damaged in transit or you have received the wrong order.

  1. Does the Cancer Care Foundation make a profit on the sale of Christmas Cards?
     The Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation is a registered charity established to raise funds to support the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre (in St. John's) and its affiliated cancer programs throughout the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. All net proceeds of sales are in support of cancer treatment equipment and support programs in our province.
